Lightheaded
She taps her fingers on her notebook fervently as she listens to Jack Johnson. Unable to relax for some reason, she shifts uncomfortably on the plastic chair that she has been sitting on for hours. Her head is constantly filled with fragmented thoughts passing through with no definite direction and inadvertently purposeless, but the consciousness within her was intensely aware of even the most miniscule sound around her. Anxiety is creeping up her spine. Could it be the caffeine from the cold tea she’s been sipping on for hours now? It cannot be as she is a caffeine addict. Epitome of addiction in fact, a secret she was able to keep for so long. She flips her hair nervously as she sighed loudly, a futile attempt at relaxation. The sleeveless black and white checkered top she was wearing was beginning to dampen at the back due to slight sweating, which she immediately attributed to the warm weather. She herself was not convinced but she believed it anyway. It was far better than consciously knowing the cause of it because that will then cause more anxiety on her part. Accepting defeat, she stood up with a heavy heart from her desk knowing that she will not be able to work any longer unless she shakes the oppressive feeling of the unacknowledged cause. She bent over to reach for her toes and gently tugged her flipped hair just for the fun of it. The stretched position as well as the blood rushing to her head due to her reversed posture made her smile and euphoric for some reason, so there she remained with her eyes closed until her calves started burning. There was no desire to come back to earth but the physiological pain brought on by the abnormality of being able to see all her twenty fingers next to each other was persistent. She tossed her torso upright too quickly while her hair arched up a foot and a half above her head. Upon opening her eyes she immediately fell on the carpeted floor, landing on her ass and her right elbow. Light headed. The throbbing pain on her back, butt and right elbow shocked her but it didn’t stop her from half crying and half laughing at the situation she was in: In pain, on the floor, dizzy, and unable to get up. Shes alive and finally able to breathe. Epiphany of the day: she will be okay afterall.
